How to Steep the Perfect Cup of Tea

Pretty soon you'll be a tea making pro. Here's the simple instructions you need to make a teahouse quality cup of tea at home!

Steeping the perfect cup of tea at home doesn't have to be a mystery. You can easily enjoy The Emerald Chandelier Experience at home anytime!

Now that we've covered that you CAN do this, let's talk about the supplies you'll need.

1. The Emerald Chandelier's Signature loose leaf tea.

2. Reusable or disposable tea filter

3. Your favorite tea cup

4. Hot water

5. Optional cream and sweetener

Step #1 Spoon 1 teaspoon of tea into your filter

To enjoy premium tea, you need to use premium tea. Sorry Bigelow, this is not your time to shine! We prefer loose leaf tea because it captures and releases much more flavor with much more control. You don't need to overanalyze the amount here. Just use a normal kitchen spoon and spoon about 1 spoonful into a filter.

Step #2 Place into your hot water

The water temperature is dependent on the type of tea. Here's a general guideline:

Green & White Tea: Between 140-160 Degrees

Black & Herbal Tea: Between 180-212 Degrees

Step #3 Steep to Tea's Specifications

Each of our teas have a designated steeping time. You'll find this on the back of your cannister!

Generally, herbal and green teas steep for 6 minutes. White tea 4 minutes, black tea 3 minutes. If you want to ice your tea, then steep for one additional minute on top of the designated steep time. Important: COVER YOUR TEA WHILE YOU STEEP! This will lock in flavor and nutrients!

Step #4 Add any extras

Cream, honey, sugar, or lemon- this is the time to add your personal spin! Try different things and see what suits your fancy.

Step #5 ENJOY

Grab a book, pet your dog, or sit on your front porch and enjoy the flavors and smells wafting from your perfect cup of tea. You are now a pro!
